The Champions League Invisible Finger
CL winner core = WC winner pattern.

# The Champions League's Invisible Finger
Four of the last five World Cups: the winner had core players from the previous season's Champions League winner. 2010: Inter Milan won CL, but Spain's core came from Barcelona — the previous year's champion. 2014: Bayern Munich won CL — Lahm, Neuer, Muller, Gotze, Boateng all started for Germany. 2018: Real Madrid won CL — Varane started for France. 2022: the chain may have broken — unless you count Messi's Barcelona DNA from 2015.
The distance between lifting the Champions League in May and the World Cup in July is shorter than it seems. A player who has just won the biggest club match on earth carries a specific confidence into the knockout stage: 'I know how to win this kind of match. I just did it.'
2025 CL winner candidates and their national team beneficiaries: Real Madrid (Mbappe → France, Vinicius → Brazil, Bellingham → England). Manchester City (Rodri → Spain, Foden → England). Bayern Munich (Musiala → Germany).
Not science. Superstition. But superstition has won more World Cups than you think.
